This is a brief look at Marker-Moore’s post-processing workflow: Once I made a selection, I held down the shift key and tapped the arrow key down 50 times to offset the layers before making the next. Next, I used the Marquee selection tool to make a diagonal cut across the image, right clicking to select the option to cut away the layers. To do this, he shot well over 30,000 images for this project. Thus, I clicked on each image and dragged them on top of the first one. He wanted to show the transition of day to night in the cities. I got started in photography when my kids began dance and sports activities. I choose not to share my photographs publicly at this time, and instead make my galleries available privately to my clients and attendees so they can share as they choose. Most of my shoots are events, sports activities and private sessions. The two cities posed several challenges for the photographer, but he still managed to capture the inherent beauty of these places in his images, which he converted to time slices. Imagine being able to see a whole movie at once, collapsed into a single still image. Hong Kong, the city of skyscrapers, and Shanghai, the largest city in the world in terms of population, are both unique in their own ways. Raymond Aubin is an artist in contemporary photography who also writes critiques and reviews in visual and media arts. It’s because of this all-consuming passion for photography, and specifically the love for creating time-slices, that Marker-Moore found himself in two of the largest cities in the world: Hong Kong and Shanghai. Today, we share his next, more international project. The passion to shoot images just intersperses with his work-during, before, and after. Just over a year ago we shared his ‘time-slice’ photo collages that blended together day and night in the Big Apple. But before he’s a photographer, he’s a motion graphics and animation artist by profession. Marker-Moore is a passionate photographer.

This photograph is available in different sizes with a 2x3 aspect ratio. Its a visual effect, also known as the Matrix effect or time-slice, created using multiple cameras to give the impression of time slowing down or standing. This print makes an incredibly unique addition to any home! The first photo was taken 55 minutes before sunrise and the last about 50 minutes after. To create this 'timeslice,' I stitched together nine photos of the Jefferson Memorial, taken over a period of 106 minutes during sunrise, to show the progression of the light.
